5a. The mushroom has TEETH The stem may be in the center of the stalk or off-center. The mushroom is fleshy or woody, not jelly-like, and grows on the ground, usually in the forest.

5b. The mushroom is small and jelly-like and has teeth
SEE Pseudohydnum gelatinosum

 

5c. The mushroom has the tiny spines but it looks like a frozen waterfall or a coral and doesnęt sound like either choice.
